WATCH: Bullied teen excels at BJJ after video goes viral

Londyn Maria Lefebvre was bullied until she decided to take up jiu-jitsu.

The video showing the severe bullying she experienced enabled her to seek help and become more proactive. Recently Lefebvre shared what happened to her.

Her case was then re-shared by BJJ black belt Tom DeBlass to the displeasure of the mother of the girl that was bullying Londyn.

DeBlass was called out for sharing the video (with Londyn’s permission) and threatened to have it taken down.

A video takedown can have big repercussions to one’s social media with reduced reach and even loss of the account in some cases.

DeBlass has stepped away from active competition a while back and has instead focused on shining a spotlight on some of these inspiring stories.

Londyn once again reiterated what transpired on her own social media detailing:

“A little rundown on today: in October, I got jumped. About a month ago, I decided to post what happened.

I’m not going to name names, but I’m sure we all know who commented.

One of the moms broke the no-contact order, blocked my mom’s other Instagram account, and started harassing and slandering me.

We went to the RCMP right away. I gave a written and audio statement, and I was talking to Tom DeBlass about all this. He replied to her, and then she started getting a little out of hand. She decided to tell my mother she was at the RCMP, so we went to the RCMP again. She rolled in 2 minutes later, yelling and saying she “wants a restraining order” against me and my mother.”*

Part two of her explanation reads:

“Two cops came out, one talked to us, and the other talked to her.

We had sent the officer who took my statement every screenshot of what she said to me before we went the second time.

We’ve decided to press charges for slander and breach of no contact.

Tom DeBlass reposted everything that happened, and I’m so grateful to have him in our corner. My mom and I are completely on our own, and having his support means the absolute world to us. All of your support means the world to me and my mom, so we wanted to personally thank you all. And a huge thank you to @stephxbjj for always being there for me. She’s an amazing role model and training partner. Thank you for everything, Steph.”

Londyn Maria Lefebvre was promoted to a gray belt in BJJ in December of 2022. It’s amazing to see how much difference it’s made in Lefebvre’s life, helping her overcome this ugly episode.
