Joe Rogan is known for his exuberant commentary in the UFC and the immensely popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast. He opened up about his unique lifestyle and self-improvement practices a while ago.
While majority of Hollywood stars keep their PED use under wraps, Rogan has been outspoken about his use of PEDs as far back as 2015. This is also why he had no breaks when it came to putting the Liver King on blast when he claimed to have been a natural.
Rogan has played a significant role in popularizing the sports of BJJ and MMA among the masses.
“For me, growth of the sport is how many people sign up for Jiu-Jitsu classes and go to Jiu-Jitsu gyms and try to learn. I can’t say many people would watch an ADCC or an IBJJF and decide to start doing Jiu-Jitsu. ”
“If anything, if anything they watched a Joe Rogan podcast clip on YouTube and he spoke of the virtues of Jiu-Jitsu and they thought ‘yeah, I’ll give that shot’ you know? Joe Rogan helped rebrand who you think does Jiu-Jitsu because he gave exposure to people like Eddie Bravo. Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, often times you meet a Karate or a Tae Kwon Do guy back in the day and you were like ‘this guy’s a f*cking weirdo and he’s probably doing this to hang out with kids.’ or you imagined a UFC/MMA fighter and you were like ‘that ain’t me’…”
“They exposed people to the idea that a different type of person participates in this sport and that type of person is a regular Joe. You can be a regular person.” – Craig Jones explained a while back.
According to UFC president Dana White, Rogan’s unparalleled knowledge and enthusiasm for MMA have educated more people about the sport than anyone else in history.
“The thing about Rogan is, when you watch him call a fight, you know he knows what he’s talking about and loves what he’s talking about,” says White. “The man is passionate.”
In particular, Rogan has been credited with rebranding the image of Jiu-Jitsu. His endorsement of the martial art on his podcast and the exposure he gave to prominent figures like Eddie Bravo helped dispel misconceptions about Jiu-Jitsu practitioners. Rogan’s influence and the exponential growth of his podcast have undoubtedly contributed to more people discovering and signing up for Jiu-Jitsu classes.
Rogan’s commitment to self-improvement goes beyond the world of sports. He is unapologetically open about using testosterone and human growth hormone (HGH) as part of his anti-aging regimen. While acknowledging the controversy surrounding these substances in sports, Rogan, as a non-athlete, sees them as tools to defy aging and prolong vitality.
“It’s what fighters get in trouble for, but, obviously, I’m not competing. I just like the idea that I’m cheating old age and death, although, you know, you can’t cheat it forever”— as well as human growth hormone. If he’s dragging a little, he’ll pop a Nuvigil, a variant of the focus-improving med that pilots use. Most mornings, he preps for the day with a Vitamixed, sludgy blend of kale, spinach, celery, “a large hunk of ginger about the size of a child’s thumb,” four cloves of garlic, an apple and some coconut oil. Tastes like crud. “But after your body digests it,” he says, “you’re like, ‘Whoa, we’ve got a lot of stuff to work with here.’ ”
I took a lot of different stuff,” Rogan said on a podcast episode over a decade ago. “Now, I take human growth hormone and testosterone. I go for hormone replacement therapy. I don’t need more. It’s a very light dose. The testosterone is cream. It’s healthy. It does wonders for your body.”
Rogan reportedly starts his day with a nutrient-packed smoothie, comprising kale, spinach, celery, ginger, garlic, apple, and coconut oil. Although he admits the taste may not be appealing, he appreciates the boost it gives to his body.
Furthermore, Rogan has experimented with DMT which he believes holds profound lessons and potential for human exploration.
In essence, Joe Rogan’s life is an embodiment of constant improvement and exploration. Whether it’s his passion for MMA, his mind-expanding experiences, or his commitment to health and vitality, Rogan is unafraid to embrace his unique path. His influence continues to resonate across multiple domains, leaving an enduring impact on the world of sports, entertainment, and self-discovery.
