Driving for uber can be stressful. Uber drivers often work long hours in order to earn a decent income. This can be tiring and can take a toll on their physical and mental health. The amount of money you can earn as an Uber driver can vary greatly from day to day and week to week. This can make it difficult to plan your finances and make ends meet.
As an Uber driver, you are responsible for covering the costs of your vehicle, including gas, maintenance, and insurance. These expenses can add up quickly and cut into your earnings. Driving for Uber can put you at risk for accidents, car theft, and assault. Uber does provide some insurance coverage for drivers, but it may not be enough to cover all of your expenses in the event of an accident.
As an independent contractor, Uber drivers are not entitled to benefits such as health insurance, sick leave, or paid time off. This can make it difficult to take care of yourself and your family if you get sick or need time off. Uber drivers are rated by their passengers after each trip, and a low rating can affect their ability to get future rides. This can create pressure to provide excellent service at all times, even when you may not be feeling your best.
These are some of the factors that contributed to a recent viral video. In it, we can see an older driver struggling to make ends meet and visibly aggravated by a passenger who slammed the door on his car upon leaving.
Considering he’s liable for getting those fixed, if they were to malfunction he’s right to be upset. However he took things a step further when he opted to mace his unruly passenger.
To make matters worse, he actively pursued the passenger despite warnings that he’s ready to defend himself.
Things took a turn for the worse from there, with the passenger showing he really wasn’t all talk.
