In a dramatic incident captured by security cameras, a courageous resident in Montreal successfully defended his property against two balaclava-clad burglars attempting to loot his garage.
The brave individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, confronted the intruders clad only in orange boardshorts in the early hours of the morning.
The confrontation unfolded after 2 am, as the burglars, dressed in black attire, forcibly entered the garage through a door. Their intent to steal was evident as they retrieved white plastic bags from their pockets to fill with stolen goods.
“Home invasion in Mount Royal. Two thieves broke into a residence around 2:24 a.m. this morning. They quickly realized that one of the residents was not going to let them. He also received numerous blows to the face. ”
The resident, sensing the intrusion, charged at the burglars with his fists, swiftly grappling one to the ground. Although both suspects attempted to flee through the same entry point they had used to break in, the resident’s swift action thwarted their escape. Shouting for someone to call 911, he managed to pull one of the burglars back into the garage.
During the tussle, the balaclava of one of the burglars was removed, revealing his face as he struggled against the resident’s determined efforts. The resident then cleverly secured the garage door, effectively preventing the second burglar from re-entering and overpowering him.
Although the resident endured several blows to the face during the confrontation, local news outlet TVA Nouvelles reported that he sustained no serious injuries. Despite their attempt, the burglars only managed to steal a bag belonging to the resident’s sister, leaving other valuables untouched.
Montreal’s Service de police de la Ville de Montréal is currently investigating the incident. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the identities of the suspects remain undisclosed.
