This is the horrifying scene as a professional boxer pounces on a moviegoer who allegedly beat his wife in the theater.
While watching ‘The Garfield Movie’ with his three kids, Antonio Barrul reportedly saw a guy hitting his wife and daughter.
In a dramatic video, the featherweight can be seen approaching the guy on the stage area while wearing a black and white hoodie. He walks down the stairs to face him.
Despite initially attempting to walk away, Barrul is provoked by the man’s insults. This leads to a confrontation on the theater floor.
On stage, the two spar with Barrul seemingly knocking the other down. The audio of a lady behind the camera exclaiming ‘well done’ many times can be heard as Barrul beats the guy up.
Barrul may lose his boxing license or have it suspended. However, the Spanish Boxing Federation is currently looking into him.
The boxer also told: “He hasn’t filed a complaint, he’s probably not from León as I know everyone here and we all respect each other. He hit his wife and a girl. He threatened me and although I do not justify violence, I feel that he forced me into it.”
“He was an abuser and had to be stopped. I know violence is never the answer. I’m sorry it happened, I have children and it really hurts me.”
Although the 25-year-old father noted that he is not proud of what he did, he stated that if he “saw a man mistreating a woman like that” he would do it again.
Barrul is now regarded as one of Spain’s best promising boxers. He was deemed the finest professional rookie of 2023 and is a featherweight amateur champion for Spain.
According to NeedToKnow, the boxer has engaged in five professional bouts with a sixth reportedly in the pipeline.
