Altercation in parking lot involving jiu-jitsu coral belt and wife turns into shooting incident

An unsettling incident unfolded in a condominium parking lot in the capital of Amazonas, Manaus, Brazil, involving Raimundo Nonato Machado, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coral belt renowned within the Nova União BJJ association. Machado, also employed as an investigator for the Civil Police, found himself amidst a confrontation over the weekend.

Surveillance footage captured the tense encounter, during which Machado appeared to incite his wife, Jussara, to target Claudia Gonzaga de Lima, the nanny, who was lying on the ground. The video excerpt captures Machado instructing, “Strike her head! Target her head. Knock her down. Break her face.” Following this, lawyer Ygor Colares arrived to provide assistance to the nanny, who is under his employ.

At this point, the situation took a drastic turn as the Jiu-Jitsu coral belt physically assaulted Colares and then handed over a firearm to his wife. Jussara proceeded to use the weapon to strike Claudia, employing the butt of the gun, and subsequently discharged a shot that hit Colares in the leg.

The altercation continued until law enforcement arrived at the scene. Jussara was detained and now faces an array of charges, including illegal possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm, inflicting bodily harm, and making threats. Machado was subjected to questioning and subsequently released. However, the Public Ministry is pursuing Machado’s apprehension.

Both lawyer Ygor Colares and nanny Claudia Gonzaga de Lima were successfully rescued and are currently in stable medical condition. The precise underlying factors that triggered the confrontation in the parking lot have not yet been divulged.
