Gabi Garcia returns to MMA in a rematch against Barbara Nepomuceno

Brazilian jiu-jitsu phenomenon Gabi Garcia is set to reignite her MMA career as she prepares to square off against Barbara Nepomuceno in a thrilling rematch slated for April 25 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The eagerly anticipated showdown between Garcia and Nepomuceno has been confirmed by Centurion FC officials and will be broadcast live and free on Caze TV’s YouTube channel.

Gabi Garcia, boasting an impressive MMA record of 6 wins, 1 no contest, last entered the cage in December 2018, where she secured a victory over Nepomuceno via americana submission in under three minutes at RIZIN 14.

Throughout her MMA journey, the heavyweight grappling sensation has dominated the competition in Asia, claiming all six of her victories by stoppage.

“Centurion FC is poised to make a resounding statement, and having Gabi Garcia on board is a testament to our commitment to excellence,” remarked Centurion FC CEO Roberto Gallo. “It’s an honor to feature an athlete of Gabi’s caliber, and her participation underscores the direction of Centurion FC.”

While Garcia has been making waves in grappling competitions since her last MMA appearance, clinching her fourth gold medal at the ADCC in 2019 and achieving double gold at the IBJJF Pans, Nepomuceno has been sharpening her skills in the kickboxing arena. The former WGP Kickboxing champion in Brazil returned to action in late 2022 with a victory over Gabriela Mingorance and followed it up with another win against Bianca Carvalho in April 2023.

This is very interesting considering there was a healthy degree of skepticism after Garcia announced her comeback. Garcia had a lot of issues finding an opponent, considering her massive stature.
