Ex-NFL superstar Tom Brady gets roasted for his wife leaving him for a BJJ instructor

It seems like the roast of Tom Brady took a pretty sharp turn towards poking fun at his personal life. This is particularly due to his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen’s involvement with jiu-jitsu and her alleged relationship with her instructor Joaquim Valente. The jokes from Kevin Hart and Jeff Ross definitely hit hard, playing on the idea of Gisele finding a new partner in her jiu-jitsu instructor.

Kevin joked: “Gisele gave you an ultimatum. She said you have to retire or you’re done. But when you have a chance to go 8-9 you gotta do it.”

“You sometimes got to f–k your coach. You know who else f–ked their coach? Gisele. She f–ked that karate man.”

Hart did not stop there. He continued: “I mean Jesus Christ, Tom. One of the smartest quarterbacks ever played a game. How did you not see this coming? Eight karate classes a day and she’s still a white belt. F—k Tom. The only bruises she had were on her a*s. Everybody should have known it.”

When discussing Gisele and jiu-jitsu, comedian Jeff Ross referred to Tom as a man “with so many rings he could melt them down and forge a sword to go on a quest to get Gisele back from that jiu-jitsu teacher.”

Understandably, this has led to some inquiries over Gisele’s background in jiu-jitsu. Gisele revealed to Dust Magazine that she began studying jiu-jitsu in December 2021 and upped her training in less than a year to get her blue belt.

Bundchen stated: “I’m a very passionate person, so I get really invested in things.”

Gisele said that she became interested in attending jiu-jitsu courses for herself after bringing her kid to one. The 43-year-old was promoted to a purple belt in jiu-jitsu in 2023, according to People.

The rumors about her relationship with Joaquim seem to have added fuel to the comedic fire at the roast. While sources close to Gisele claim they started dating in 2023, Tom Brady’s camp suggests it might have been earlier.

Regardless, Gisele herself has spoken about the positive impact jiu-jitsu has had on her life, emphasizing empowerment and self-defense.

She wrote: “I believe the more tools we have in our toolbox the better. I feel stronger, more [confident] and empowered since I started practicing self-defense. I feel it’s an important skill for all, but specially for us women. Thank you @ValenteBrothers for being awesome teachers and for making training so much fun. I am looking forward to keep improving. Let’s go! 🤛🏼”
