WATCH: Costco customers Duke It Out Over Summer Fans

As temperatures soar, Costco customers clashed over the sale of summer fans which led to chaotic scenes at the store.

A large group of shoppers was seen brawling for boxes of fans. Tensions flared when a woman in green trousers snatched a box of standing fans from another shopper’s hand.

The struggle intensified as she attempted to grab another box from a woman on the floor. The woman protested, “It’s mine, lady.”

The situation escalated when a man accompanying the second woman tried to protect their fan box. But he ended up on the floor after a heavyset shopper forcefully took it.

The woman reclaimed the fan, leading to a confrontation between the two men. The heavyset man shoved the woman’s companion to the floor, prompting her to scold him.

Costco employees began stacking up the empty cardboard containers while the argument continued.

The incident was recorded at a Costco store in Celaya, northwest of Mexico City. There has been an intense demand for cooling products as temperatures soared, reportedly causing hundreds of cases of heat stroke.

With summer approaching and temperatures rising, Costco launched a sale of oscillating fans. The brawl video went viral on X, amassing 732,000 views and hundreds of comments.

Local residents expressed outrage over the incident. One commenter wrote: “They are animals without brains, total human filth, acting like beasts over a f***ing fan.”

Another fan wrote: “And because of things like this, we are a banana republic.”

A third comment read: “First cakes, now fans”

This isn’t the first time Costco shoppers have clashed over sale items. Last August, customers were filmed brawling over a cake sale at another Costco store in Zapopan, Mexico.

The recurring theme of in-store brawls suggests a need for better crowd management and product distribution during high-demand periods.

Costco has been approached for comment on the recent incident. Moving forward, the company may need to consider strategies to prevent such altercations to ensure a safe shopping environment for all customers.
