Bia Mesquita is set to make her highly anticipated MMA debut on June 15 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She will face Jorgina Ramos in a thrilling bantamweight bout at Spaten Fight Night.

The Spaten Fight Night card promises to be a spectacular event. Headlining the evening is a boxing match between legends Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen. Additionally, the card features Silva’s son Kalyl Silva and 2020 Olympic gold medalist Hebert Conceição. The inclusion of these high-profile athletes adds to the anticipation surrounding Mesquita’s debut.

Bia Mesquita’s transition to MMA comes after an illustrious career in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She was recently inducted into the IBJJF Hall of Fame. She has won 10 world titles, including two in the absolute division. Mesquita’s accolades also include Pan-American and European championships under the IBJJF banner and major jiu-jitsu titles in Abu Dhabi.

In a strategic move to transition to MMA, Mesquita joined the renowned American Top Team in Florida. Her announcement came after she showcased her grappling prowess by submitting ex-UFC champion Miesha Tate in December 2022. More recently, she demonstrated her skills by submitting one-time UFC title challenger Jennifer Maia at ADXC.

Mesquita’s opponent Jorgina Ramos has also made her mark in combat sports. She competed under MMA rules this past March in Rio de Janeiro, where she competed to a majority draw. Ramos is a blue belt in jiu-jitsu and has experience from her background in boxing and kickboxing.
