Damien Anderson, a highly regarded grappler from the B-Team and one of the top prospects in the country, secured his second consecutive MMA victory at Fury FC 95: Lingo vs. Teague. Despite his impressive performance, Anderson’s cage interview took an unexpected turn, resulting in boos from the crowd.
Anderson defeated Emmanuel Calhoune, showcasing his versatility by standing with his opponent for the entire first round before securing a submission victory. This win follows his previous bout against a boxing specialist, demonstrating Anderson’s ability to adapt to different styles.
In his cage interview, Anderson initially discussed his strategy, saying, “I’m trying to challenge myself, trying to use what we’re working on in the gym.” He acknowledged his opponent’s striking prowess, noting, “For those that don’t know, he’s a primo type fighter. Great striking. He’s f**king six-two and something.”
However, the interview took a contentious turn when Anderson began addressing the crowd, using expletives and calling them “a bunch of losers.” This outburst seemed to stem from perceived lack of support or respect from the audience.
The interviewer attempted to redirect the conversation, highlighting Anderson’s impressive grappling credentials. They mentioned that Anderson is “one of the best grapplers in the world” and “the only person to score a knockout in combat jiu-jitsu.”
When asked about his future plans, Anderson responded defiantly, “Man, anyone that wants to fight me can f**king get it. Last time I had to put a $2,000 bounty on my head. Hopefully one of you guys want to fight me.”
While Anderson’s in-ring performance continues to impress, his post-fight behavior may have overshadowed his victory.
