UFC Vet reveals Vin Diesel has good jiu jitsu

Hollywood action star Vin Diesel’s martial arts prowess has been brought to light by none other than UFC veteran Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira. The Brazilian mixed martial arts legend recently shared insights about Diesel’s hidden talents on the mat, surprising fans of both the silver screen and the grappling world.

Nogueira, a former UFC heavyweight champion, disclosed that he has trained with Diesel on several occasions, praising the actor’s jiu-jitsu skills. “He’s got skills, he’s about blue belt level,” Nogueira commented, referring to the second adult rank in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which typically takes dedicated practitioners two to three years to achieve.

The unexpected friendship between the two began in Tokyo back in 2001 when Nogueira was competing in the Pride Fighting Championships. Diesel, known for his muscular physique and tough-guy roles, apparently harbors a genuine passion for martial arts that extends beyond his on-screen personas.

“I met Vin Diesel in Tokyo in 2001, when I was still fighting in Pride. He’s a big UFC fan and always watches us compete,” Nogueira revealed, shedding light on Diesel’s longstanding interest in the sport.

The actor’s enthusiasm for martial arts was further evidenced by his efforts to ensure Nogueira’s presence at the world premiere of “Fast and Furious 5” in Rio de Janeiro. This gesture underscores the genuine connection between the two, bridging the worlds of Hollywood and competitive martial arts.

While Diesel’s jiu-jitsu skills may come as a surprise to many, it aligns with his commitment to physical fitness and action roles. The revelation adds a layer of authenticity to his performances in high-octane franchises like “Fast and Furious” and “xXx.”
