WATCH: BJJ girl destroys wrestlers at the park

16-year-old Riley Breedlove showcased the effectiveness of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu against a group of untrained boys at a local park. The encounter, which was captured on video, has since gone viral, highlighting the power of martial arts training.

Riley, who trains at Ryan BJJ under Todd Ryan in Tulsa, Oklahoma, found herself in an impromptu grappling session when challenged by the group. Despite being outnumbered, her years of experience in BJJ proved to be a decisive advantage.

One of the boys can be heard boasting, “I don’t tap. I’ll go out before I tap.” True to his word, he ended up losing consciousness rather than conceding defeat. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of tapping out in grappling sports to prevent injury or loss of consciousness.

Riley’s journey in BJJ began at a young age. She recalls, “I got into BJJ when I was about 7 or 8 because of my brother. He was being bullied on the (football) field about his size, so my parents thought Jiu Jitsu would help with the bullying and make him more athletic. The instructor dragged me on to the mats for me to try it. Naturally I just fell in love with it!”

While the video may appear intense, Riley assured that safety measures were in place. “One of them tried to (lift me), but I had a friend who also trains ‘refereeing’ the roll so that nobody got hurt,” she explained.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a martial art that emphasizes ground fighting and grappling, has gained popularity for its effectiveness in self-defense situations. It promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a larger, stronger opponent by using proper technique and leverage.

Riley’s impressive performance serves as a testament to the effectiveness of BJJ and the empowerment it can provide to practitioners. Her story has inspired many, and she continues to pursue her passion for the sport. Those interested in following Riley’s jiu-jitsu career can find competition footage and updates on her fan page.
