WATCH: Conor McGregor grapples with son on New Year’s eve

UFC superstar Conor McGregor showed his softer side this New Year’s Eve, sharing heartwarming moments with his eldest son in a playful grappling session. The Irish mixed martial artist posted a series of photos and videos on his social media, capturing quality time with Conor McGregor Jr.

The intimate father-son moment revealed a different side of ‘The Notorious,’ who demonstrated his dedication to family amidst his busy career. McGregor, a father of four, has consistently shared glimpses of his family life with his followers, particularly his special bond with his eldest son.

The video shows McGregor and his 7-year-old son engaging in light grappling exchanges, showcasing the youngster’s growing interest in martial arts. Like his father, Conor Jr. trains at the prestigious Straight Blast Gym (SBG) in Ireland under the guidance of John Kavanagh, where the elder McGregor has remained a loyal student throughout his career.

Earlier, McGregor had proudly shared his son’s achievement of earning another stripe on his jiu-jitsu belt. “He is so happy and it makes me incredibly proud to see his efforts! Well done my Champion!” McGregor wrote on social media, thanking SBG Ireland and coach Nerijus for their guidance.

The post also included an intriguing caption hinting at McGregor’s potential return to competition in 2025. Currently, discussions are underway regarding a possible boxing match against Logan Paul, which McGregor has indirectly confirmed through recent social media posts.

Conor McGregor has a unique reason for constantly deleting tweets

The Irish sports star, known for his outspoken presence on social media platforms, explained that he removes his posts to maintain a positive atmosphere on his social channels while still ensuring his messages reach their intended audience.

“I will always say what I need to say, it gets reported/spread, then I remove from my page,” McGregor clarified in response to an online commentator. “It’s done and out. I do not like to keep negativity on my channels. Ever.”

Most recently, McGregor took to X (formerly Twitter) to address speculation about his future plans, stating: “The rumours of a bout with Topuria are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India.” The Ambani family, with a net worth exceeding $50 billion, is reportedly backing the proposed exhibition.

Despite his extended absence from competition, McGregor continues to maintain a significant social media presence, though his followers might need to be quick to catch his posts before they disappear.
