WATCH: THREE cops unable to contain a single perp is definitive proof cops need more BJJ training

Recent footage showcasing three law enforcement officers struggling to subdue a single individual has reignited discussions about the necessity of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in police departments across the nation.

The incident, which has gone viral on social media, depicts three officers attempting unsuccessfully to detain a person, highlighting what many experts describe as a critical gap in law enforcement training protocols.

This stark contrast comes just a little while after another viral video showed a BJJ-trained officer skillfully handling a confrontational situation. In that instance, the officer demonstrated precise control techniques, safely subduing an individual without causing harm to either party.

However, implementing mandatory BJJ training faces several hurdles. Many departments don’t offer such training or provide reimbursement for officers who seek it independently.

Some officers who do train independently report restrictions on certain techniques.

The footage has sparked calls for reform in police training protocols, with advocates suggesting that departments should allocate more resources to hands-on control tactics rather than focusing solely on other aspects of law enforcement.

While some argue that implementing such training might be challenging due to budget constraints and time limitations, proponents maintain that the investment would lead to safer interactions for both officers and civilians, potentially reducing instances of excessive force and improving public safety outcomes.
