Fabricio Andrey defeats Ash Williams by decision at ONE Championship

Brazilian jiu-jitsu standout Fabricio “Hokage” Andrey made a successful ONE Championship debut by defeating Welsh grappler Ashley Williams via unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 30.

The 70kg catchweight contest showcased Andrey’s refined skills as he controlled the pace throughout the match with superior positioning and constant pressure.

From the opening moments, Andrey demonstrated his judo background with a series of precise foot sweeps that repeatedly disrupted Williams’ balance. These technical maneuvers allowed Andrey to secure advantageous positions, particularly from top control.

Once on top, the Brazilian exhibited a fluid passing game that kept Williams on the defensive. Combining high-step movements with torreando passes in quick succession, Andrey maintained relentless pressure against his opponent’s guard.

While Williams managed to create opportunities by entering leg entanglements and threatening submissions at various points, he couldn’t secure any submission finishes under ONE Championship’s scoring system.

A highlight of Andrey’s performance was his effective use of the knee ride position. He skillfully utilized his shin to apply pressure to Williams’ limbs while distributing his weight for maximum control.

This victory marks an important milestone for Andrey, representing both his ONE Championship debut and his first major competition of the year.
