UFC’s Paddy Pimblett Calls Moicano a “B*tch” for Tapping to Makhachev: Go out on your shield, don’t be a little b*tch

UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett has fired shots at Renato Moicano for his performance against champion Islam Makhachev, calling him a “b*tch” for tapping out quickly during their title bout.

During his appearance on the Full Send Podcast, Pimblett didn’t hold back when discussing Moicano’s submission loss to Makhachev, saying mixed martial artists should never tap to chokes when competing for a title.

“He’s never going to get that opportunity again. He’s never going to fight for the lightweight title again,” Pimblett said. “He shouldn’t have fought for it that time, he didn’t deserve it, but he got the title shot.”

Pimblett continued, expressing his belief that fighters should go out on their shield rather than submit: “If I got a title shot on 24 hours notice, I am not tapping to a choke. When you go to sleep, you just wake back up. So go to sleep, go out on your shield, don’t be a little b*tch and tap in like three seconds.”

“In an armbar, a kneebar or a kimura where you can have a career threatening injury, yeah,” Pimblett affirmed regarding when tapping is appropriate.

The Liverpool fighter, who is preparing to face Michael Chandler at UFC 314, explained that while he understands tapping to submissions that could cause serious injury like armbars or knee bars, he believes fighters should never tap to chokes, especially in title opportunities.

Moicano had previously responded to Pimblett’s criticism, but Pimblett dismissed this, saying, “Once I beat Chandler, Mo was in the rear view.”

Pimblett goes into his upcoming fight with Chandler confident of a finish, predicting he’ll dismantle the former Bellator champion within two rounds.
