A rather amusing exchange between two online gamers has gone viral after one player attempted to intimidate his opponent by sharing images of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu belts that were clearly taken from the internet.
The incident began during what appeared to be a heated exchange on Xbox messaging between two users following a match in a UFC video game. When the conversation turned confrontational, BraveErick05 escalated matters by claiming to have martial arts expertise.
“We can run it in real life,” BraveErick05 messaged before sharing an image of a purple BJJ belt. He continued with messages emphasizing his supposed training: “Yk how long it took to get a purple belt… Since you train… It ain’t easy.”
However, his intimidation attempt quickly unraveled when IShowHands discovered that the image was actually taken directly from a 2018 blog post titled “WHAT DOES A BJJ BELT PROMOTION MEAN?” on bellinghambjj.com. The article featured the exact same purple belt on a wooden display board that BraveErick05 had shared as his own.
When confronted about his gaming habits instead, BraveErick05 became increasingly defensive, resorting to threats: “saying ts cuz yk u get slept… And arm broken… All in one.”
IShowHands maintained his composure throughout the exchange, simply pointing out his opponent’s extensive gaming history: “As long as your gaming career? 40 days on minecraft, 90 on ufc games? 12 on roblox?”
The interaction has sparked amusement across social media platforms, with many users finding humor in the failed attempt at intimidation. One commenter noted, “This is embarrassing,”.
Obtaining a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu typically requires years of dedicated training and represents an intermediate to advanced level of skill – making the attempted deception all the more transparent to those with knowledge of the discipline.
The exchange ended abruptly after IShowHands suggested his opponent “touch grass and wash the grease off your controller” – advice that resonated with many in the gaming community who viewed the interaction.
This serves as a humorous reminder of how online confrontations can sometimes lead to elaborate yet easily debunked claims, particularly in competitive gaming environments.
