Adam22 roasts parents who put 4 year olds into jiu-jitsu: They’re just kind of rolling around on the ground

In a recent episode of the No Jumper podcast, host Adam22 shared his skeptical take on the growing trend of parents enrolling their toddlers in martial arts training, specifically calling out those who put their 4-year-olds into jiu-jitsu classes.

During his conversation with UFC legend Chuck Liddell, Adam22 questioned the effectiveness of martial arts training for such young children, noting:

“It’s kind of like a trend in the parenting circles that I’m in that a lot of these parents are talking about putting their four-year-olds in jiu-jitsu.”

While acknowledging some potential benefits, Adam22 couldn’t help but poke fun at the reality of toddler martial arts:

“I’ve seen four-year-olds do jiu-jitsu and they’re just kind of rolling around on the ground and it looks pretty funny.”

The podcast host seemed to weigh both sides of the argument, recognizing the potential benefits of early martial arts training while still finding humor in the situation.

“Part of me thinks this is a great thing to get them started on early. Obviously a kid who can defend themselves is very valuable. I think it’s good for their mind state even outside the physical aspect,” Adam22 explained.

Chuck Liddell, the MMA icon known as “The Iceman,” offered his perspective as a father, stating he wants his children to know how to defend themselves but wouldn’t force them into fighting:

“I want them to know how to fight. I want them to be able to do everything, but I’m not going to make them do anything.”

Liddell emphasized the importance of self-defense skills, particularly for boys:

“I think it’s very important for a kid to know how to defend themselves, especially guys.”

He reflected on his own upbringing, noting that he’s

“never been in a situation where I felt like I’m worried about making a decision over whether or not I’m scared.”
