At Sydney Wrestling Academy, owned by Ali El Keir and Lucas Kanard, the latest episode of Partizan Grappling showcased a remarkable challenge between skill levels and genders that culminated in a combat jiu-jitsu round between a blue belt and one of Australia’s premier female mixed martial artists.
The spacious, well-equipped facility proved to be the perfect battleground for this high-octane training session.
“It’s a phenomenal gym. Massive open space. Um, plenty of room for me to get bashed up from wall to wall.”
Throughout the session, various practitioners demonstrated their skills, from white belts to the gym’s lone black belt. The competitive atmosphere was palpable, with one participant observing,
“This is how you know it’s a competitive gym,”
as rounds began with intensity and technical precision.
The training featured several notable grapplers, including Harrison Everett, who boasts
“silver at brown belt worlds”
among his achievements, and Issa, described as
“one of the most competitive scary dudes in Australia”
at purple belt level. Another standout performer was Zach, a wrestler with multiple national titles under his belt.
However, the highlight of the session came when Senita, referred to as “Gase” in the transcript, accepted the challenge for a combat jiu-jitsu round. Introduced as
“the best Australian grappler, probably the best female grappler in the world,”
she was preparing for an upcoming combat jiu-jitsu match and demonstrated why she holds such high regard.
Despite the blue belt’s previous rounds with other skilled grapplers, the match with Senita proved to be on another level. As noted during the encounter,
“she’s literally she beats everyone up. One of the best in the world.”
The session concluded with universal praise for Sydney Wrestling Academy as a premier training destination. The gym’s reputation for housing elite talent and fostering competitive training was summed up perfectly:
“Sydney Wrestling Academy has to be on the gym list to visit.”
