WATCH: Bro tried for a takedown

A viral video captured an unusual confrontation between two heavyset men at what appears to be a New Orleans subway station with an “Exit to Poydras” sign visible overhead. The incident has sparked widespread social media commentary and comparisons to professional mixed martial arts.

The footage shows one individual wearing a jersey attempting an unexpected grappling maneuver against another person dressed entirely in black. While the initial attempt showed mixed results the jersey-wearing participant’s technique drew both criticism and surprising praise from online observers.

Social media users were quick to weigh in with their analysis.

“Dude in the black has zero leg strength.”

Meanwhile one commenter offered a tongue-in-cheek comparison to professional athletes writing

“Guys had better grappling skills and take down defense than DDP.”

The encounter generated a range of reactions from viewers. Some focused on the technical aspects with one commenter noting

“10-8 round”

in reference to MMA scoring. Others commented on the physical comedy of the situation with one observer remarking

“This match went on way too long lol.”

The wardrobe malfunctions that occurred during the incident became a particular source of amusement.

“The pants doe… big boy problems.”

said one commenter, while another added

“Bro lost his pants.”

Another suggested practically that

“A belt would help.”

Several commenters drew comparisons to professional combat sports.

“LOL, that takedown was out of nowhere! Dude went full MMA in the stands.”

said one commenter, while another compared it to

GM3 vs Oleksiejczuk.”

Another even suggested the participants showed

“Top 15 heavyweight material right there.”

Ultimately the man dressed in black managed a sweep against all odds. But he was not succesful in getting up and gaining the upwards position. His opponent managed to get one up on him with a ground and pound session.

Luckily both competitors walked away from the scrap unharmed.
