Joe Rogan talks how he fixed his neck and back pain

Podcast host Joe Rogan recently opened up about his successful battle against chronic neck and back pain that plagued him for nearly a year, sharing insights that could help others facing similar struggles.

After months of dealing with debilitating neck issues, Rogan found himself cycling through chiropractors with little success. “My neck was f***ed up for like almost a year and I was going to chiropractors who are all goofy. It’s all nonsense,” he revealed during a discussion about his health journey.

The breakthrough came when Rogan sought treatment at Lifespan medicine in Santa Monica, where he worked with Dr. Ben Ruhi. A proper MRI scan finally revealed the root of his problem: a bulging disc in his neck that had been causing his persistent pain. “He said, you have a bulging disc in your neck. We got an MRI. He’s like, this is what we could do,” Rogan explained.

The recommended treatment plan involved spinal decompression combined with Regenokine, a powerful anti-inflammatory therapy. The results were remarkably swift and effective. “It was spinal decompression and we’ll use Regenokine. It’s a very potent anti-inflammatory. It’ll relax all the muscles around that area and slowly it’ll go back. And it went back,” Rogan said.

Perhaps most surprising was how quickly the treatment worked. When asked about multiple sessions, Rogan clarified: “The Regenokine, no. I think it was one treatment. One treatment did it.” While he did return for additional treatments, these were primarily preventative measures rather than addressing the original problem. “I did go back again to get another treatment, but that’s just because I do jujitsu. And jujitsu is you’re just always getting your neck cranked on,” he explained.

The follow-up sessions focused on his mid-back and were “more like maintenance than anything. The big issue had been resolved.”

Beyond the medical intervention, Rogan emphasized the importance of targeted strengthening exercises. He admitted to a crucial oversight in his fitness routine that may have contributed to his problems. “I started strengthening because I never really did anything to strengthen my lower back, my neck, any of those things while I was training jujitsu in the beginning. I just worked out normal stuff. I lifted weights.”
