A very convincing artificial intelligence-generated commercial has taken social media by storm, fooling even those close to Joe Rogan‘s inner circle with its authentic recreation of 1980s toy advertising.
The parody video presents a fictional “G.I. Joe Rogan playset,” complete with miniature versions of the podcast host engaged in adventures that mirror his most frequently discussed topics. The mock advertisement shows Rogan confronting a hairless chimpanzee while using recovery protocols and wellness accessories familiar to regular listeners of The Joe Rogan Experience.
“Initiate recovery protocol! ”
“Quick heal with BPC-157!”
the narrator announces, referencing the peptide Rogan has discussed in health conversations.
The commercial includes appearances by Alex Jones, with dialogue drawn directly from his most notorious rants:
“Oh no! It’s Alex Jones! I don’t like them putting chemicals in the water!”
The fictional product comes with thematically appropriate accessories.
“The G.I. Joe Rogan playset comes loaded with official haunted accessories. It also includes a limited edition compound bow and realistic elk targets,”
the advertisement declares, nodding to Rogan‘s documented passion for bowhunting.
Perhaps most telling are the fine print disclaimers:
“Accessories sold separately. Batteries not included. Supplements not real. Do not take medical advice from a toy.”
The video’s production quality was convincing enough to momentarily trick Gordon Ryan, a friend of the podcast host. Ryan shared the video on social media, captioning it:
“@joerogan bout to be a trillionaire selling these bad boys 🥋”
This response is particularly unusual considering the original account, itsbetterwithai, makes its artificial intelligence origins clear. The creator’s Instagram post includes extensive details about the production process and the conceptual framework behind the parody.
“Had a crazy idea a while back that stuck with me, so I decided to bring it into reality with AI,”
the creator wrote.
“This video plays on the idea that, for a certain generation, Joe Rogan feels like the grown-up continuation of the hyper-masculine toy fantasies many of us, myself included, grew up with.”
The creator elaborated on the underlying message:
“G.I. Joe commercials were never really about action figures. They sold a worldview built around toughness and confidence. Most importantly, they offered a sense of control in an often scary and unpredictable world for a young boy.”
The post draws connections between Rogan‘s content themes and childhood toy marketing.
“Rogan often taps into similar instincts, hunting, self-mastery, physical dominance, and skepticism of authority. At the core, it is the belief that if you build the right mindset, you can handle anything.”
The creator used multiple AI tools to bring the vision to life, including ChatGPT and Gemini for conceptualization, Nano Banana Pro through Higgsfield for generating action figure images, Kling 2.5 and 2.6 for animation, ElevenLabs for voiceover work, and Suno for the introductory vocal tag and background music. The theme song incorporates a guitar cover of the JRE podcast that Lex Fridman previously posted on YouTube, transformed into a fast-paced 1980s hair metal style.
The video accumulated 33,000 likes within 17 hours and spread rapidly across Reddit, Twitter, and other platforms. The reception has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the attention to detail and authenticity.
