Gordon Ryan walks fans through his insane watch collection

BJJ superstar Gordon Ryan recently gave fans an intimate look at his extensive watch collection, showcasing pieces that tell the story of his journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of grappling’s biggest stars.

Ryan’s collection began modestly with G-Shock watches, including his very first timepiece from age 12 – a basic G-Shock that he says has been “bulletproof ever since.” His early collection featured multiple colorful G-Shocks that he would coordinate with his outfits during his New York training days.

As his success grew, Ryan transitioned to higher-end pieces. In his video he describes his first “big boy watch” was a Breitling Super Ocean Heritage, purchased after he started making money from instructionals. The collection now includes several prestigious luxury timepieces, including multiple Rolexes.

A rare and sought-after variation of the Day-Date, the green ombré dial with Roman numerals adds a touch of modern elegance. Often associated with exclusivity and celebratory milestones, this watch is a fitting reward for a monumental victory.

Ryan describes it as “the absolute nicest Rolex” in his opinion, noting how it “sparkles so crazy” in the light.

Interestingly, most of Ryan’s luxury watches were gifts, including a Hublot Big Bang and a Frank Muller that’s often mistaken for a Richard Mille. He revealed that he now refuses to buy watches himself, preferring to maintain a collection built entirely from meaningful gifts.

The collection demonstrates Ryan’s evolution from wearing basic G-Shocks during training to sporting some of the most coveted timepieces in the world, mirroring his rise in the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
