WATCH: Two women get into a slugfest over a parking spot

Two women engaged in a heated altercation at a shopping center parking lot just days before Christmas in Springfield, southwest of Brisbane, Australia.

The incident, captured on video and posted to TikTok on Monday, unfolded at the Orion Shopping Centre when two shoppers appeared to disagree over a parking situation.

The footage shows a woman in a green shirt initiating physical contact after dropping her bag. Her opponent, wearing a dark shirt, initially stumbled backward toward her vehicle parked in the middle of the road before responding with a defensive motion.

The situation escalated as both individuals made contact with each other’s heads before the woman in the dark shirt made another motion toward the back of her opponent’s head. The two then grabbed each other’s hair, reaching a standstill until a male bystander intervened to separate them.

After the intervention, the women continued to exchange words while the man restrained the woman in green, and the other individual returned to her vehicle.

A Queensland Police spokesperson indicated no official complaint had been filed.

The video, later shared on Facebook with the caption “Nothing like a little carpark rage at Orion, stay classy Springer’s,” generated over 300 comments from concerned community members.

“Don’t know why people just don’t park far … There’s always parks,” one commenter noted.

“They should be so embarrassed of themselves, fighting over a carpark,” another wrote.

One witness who was present during the incident described it as “awful,” adding, “There was a child in the car who would have seen it all … The man in the car who came to the rescue was amazing.”

The incident occurred during the busy pre-Christmas shopping period when parking spaces are particularly scarce.
