A Jiu-jitsu instructor in Itaporã, Brazil, was arrested Monday in connection with the s*xual assault of a 14-year-old student who later died by her own hand.
The arrest warrant, issued on February 27, was executed at the instructor’s academy that bears his name in downtown Itaporã. He will remain in custody pending trial.
The assault was reported on October 30 by the target’s mother, who told authorities the abuse occurred between August and September 2024. According to the mother, the instructor initiated a relationship with her daughter just before her 14th birthday. Douradosinforma was the first to report.
After discovering messages between her daughter and the instructor, the mother contacted police. Evidence presented to investigators included disturbing text exchanges where the instructor provided instructions about ab*rtion-inducing medication to the teenager.
“Put four pills in your mouth and leave them for half an hour, but take them at your home. You will feel sick, but that’s normal. Keep your legs up, like today’s exercises in jiu-jitsu. If you don’t do it right, you’ll get pregnant,” the instructor wrote in messages obtained by police.
“I threw up in the toilet,” the girl responded. “Don’t throw them away, those are $200 worth of medicine. Put four [capsules] in your v*gina and push them deep inside,” the instructor replied.
The teenager died by her own hand on January 11 of this year. The instructor’s name has been withheld to protect the target’s identity. Brazilian media included that the incident ocurred at TEAM AGUIAR by featuring their logo.
