“Jayson was jumped at the park, while walking our dog last night,” the boy’s mother explained in a statement. “A group of kids decided to threaten and throw things at the dog, then proceed to jump my son as he tried to walk away from them. As I ran up, I see blood covering his face.”
According to the mother, this incident is part of ongoing harassment their family has faced, including objects thrown over their fence, rocks hurled at their pets, and threats when attempting to address the situation with parents.
After seeing the video, Danis—known for his elite jiujitsu skills—immediately reached out to the family, offering his support in multiple ways.
“I’m offering to get him into a martial arts gym with all expenses covered by me,” Danis wrote to Jayson’s mother. “We can also work on helping you out financially. A lot of people online have your back.”
The mother, who is raising four children on her own, expressed profound gratitude for Danis‘s intervention.
“Thank you so so much, I’m crying I really needed some support and encouragement!” she responded.
She further elaborated on her challenging situation:
“I want my son to get some support and connection with men who have good character and values. I’m doing my best as a single mom of 4.”
Thanks to the attention brought to the case by Danis and others, the two primary attackers are now facing charges, according to the mother. Previously, she noted, “it didn’t seem the police cared.”
Danis‘s gesture has resonated with fans and followers, who have praised his willingness to step in and make a tangible difference in a young person’s life. The MMA star’s offer not only provides Jayson with valuable self-defense skills but also connects him with positive male role models in a supportive environment.
“Jayson is a hero in my book,” Danis stated, “so let’s work on getting both of you all the help I can.”
The martial arts community has long emphasized how training can build confidence and resilience in young people who have experienced bullying, potentially transforming victims into empowered individuals with both the skills to protect themselves and the discipline to use those abilities responsibly.
Danis has previously done something similar for another bullied individual.
For Jayson and his mother, who are saving to move away from their current troubled neighborhood, Danis‘s intervention represents not just practical assistance but a beacon of hope during a difficult time.
