The grappling world received major news this week as FloGrappling officially confirmed that the 2026 ADCC World Championships will take place in Kraków, Poland on September 12th and 13th. The announcement puts to rest months of speculation about the location of the sport’s most prestigious tournament.
During a recent episode of the FloGrappling Show, host Trey Robinson shared the exciting details about the venue selection.
“ADCC has confirmed September 12th and 13th we will be going to Kraków Poland for the 2026 ADCC World Championships”
Robinson announced to viewers. The choice represents a continuation of ADCC’s tradition of hosting the championship in various international locations.
Poland represents an intriguing selection for the tournament, marking another step in ADCC’s global reach. The championship has previously been held in diverse locations including China, Barcelona and New Jersey but this will mark the tournament’s debut in Poland. According to Robinson, the venue in Kraków is reportedly
“one of the best in Poland” and located in “the most beautiful city to visit”
The selection of Poland reflects the growing strength of European jiu-jitsu particularly in Eastern Europe. Robinson noted during the show that Poland has
“the most jiu-jitsu black belts in Europe”
and emphasized the country’s passionate combat sports community.
“There’s so many Europeans who are skyrocketing up right now”
he explained, suggesting the location will provide an energetic atmosphere for the competition.
The FloGrappling team expressed enthusiasm about the international setting with Robinson sharing his personal experience visiting Poland multiple times for grappling-related coverage.
“When we went to Poland we went to Poznan to do stuff with Adam Wardziński and everything and it was like the taxi cab driver like he was hip to jiu-jitsu. He was like talking about MMA with us”
Robinson recalled, highlighting the country’s deep combat sports culture.
This announcement also addresses speculation about potential scheduling conflicts with other major grappling events. Robinson indicated that organizers are working to ensure better coordination between major tournaments suggesting a more collaborative approach within the grappling community moving forward.
The Polish location may also create unique opportunities for European competitors. Robinson speculated that the international venue could benefit local grapplers in case of last-minute roster changes.
“If somebody last minute gets hurt or doesn’t make weight or whatever we don’t have access to all the grapplers in America. So now suddenly I think a lot of these Polish… European and Polish grapplers… can get these kind of last minute invites”
he explained.
Before the main event in Kraków, grappling fans can expect the first ADCC trials to take place in Warsaw providing a preview of the Polish grappling scene’s enthusiasm and organization capabilities.
The 2026 ADCC World Championships in Poland promises to showcase the truly international nature of modern grappling while highlighting the continued growth of jiu-jitsu in European markets. With over a year to prepare the grappling community can look forward to experiencing one of Europe’s most vibrant combat sports cultures firsthand.
