Real American Freestyle Exec Brags About Success of Wrestling Promotion: We’re 3 Years Ahead of Schedule

Eric Bischoff appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show where Helwani took a moment to acknowledge the growing success of Real American Freestyle, the wrestling promotion Bischoff has been involved with.

“Congratulations on RAF. It’s been a minute since we talked about RAF,” Helwani told Bischoff during the interview. “You know, we talk about the product a lot on this program. Had Chad on recently. I’ve had a number of your athletes. It’s really been amazing. And I’ll be honest, didn’t expect you guys to have so much success so early on. So, kudos to you and the team on what you have going. Tremendous stuff.”

Bischoff responded enthusiastically, admitting that even his own expectations for the promotion have already been surpassed.

“It is fascinating, Ariel,” Bischoff said while thanking Helwani for the continued support. “And obviously we appreciate your support. It’s a combination of a lot of things, but we truly feel blessed. And as optimistic as I can be, we are three years ahead of where I hoped optimistically we could be when this thing started. So it’s an exciting ride and thank you for being a part of it.”

During the conversation, Bischoff made it clear that the promotion’s early momentum has exceeded even his most ambitious projections.

Earlier in the discussion, Bischoff also connected his current role with RAF to the opportunities Turner gave him during his time at Turner Broadcasting.

“I would not be involved with Real American Freestyle were it not for the opportunities that Ted Turner provided to me,” Bischoff said. “And I’m just one guy. Think about all of the people that worked at Turner Broadcasting, the thousands of people who just like me got opportunities and got to grow and got to pursue their careers because of the entrepreneurial groundbreaking vision that Ted Turner had when it came to the media landscape.”

With RAF events scheduled for May 30th and June 13th, the promotion appears to be steadily building momentum.
