On a recent episode of the FloGrappling Show, host Trey Robinson and guests Adele Fornarino and Jasmine Rocha were joined by Achilles Rocha, who revealed he trained with controversial content creator Clavicular.
The topic surfaced while the panel discussed tiptoemaxxing, a trend where people walk on their tiptoes or use height-enhancing shoes to appear taller. During the conversation, Achilles casually mentioned that Clavicular does exactly that.
Explaining how the training session came together, Achilles said, “One of his managers at the time used to train at our gym, and I’m friends with him, so he hit him up. He was like, ‘Come teach my boy jiu-jitsu.’”
Achilles also noted that Clavicular was very different in person compared to his online image. “He’s not that much of a d**chebag. He’s much nicer in person,” he said.
The panel agreed that cameras and internet fame often bring out exaggerated personalities in people.
According to Achilles, the training session was broadcasted live and quickly attracted chaos from viewers online. “We got raided like three times. People were sending pizza, calling the cops. The amount of influence he has, it’s ridiculous,” he recalled.
However, Achilles clarified that this was not Clavicular’s first experience training Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Before visiting Achilles’ gym, Clavicular had reportedly trained at Surf Fig ht alongside Magid [Hage], where the atmosphere was far more hostile.
Describing what allegedly happened there, Trey explained, “He went to Majid’s gym and basically this dude was just like dogging him, dogging Clavicular, and then he was like, ‘This is for all this stuff I got to see online.’”
According to the panel, the training partner continued rolling even after Clavicular wanted to stop, creating what they described as an uncomfortable and unnecessarily aggressive environment.
Achilles said he intentionally approached the session differently. “I just moved with him and I showed him some positions,” he explained. While he admitted to submitting Clavicular a few times, he emphasized that the session was meant to be educational rather than humiliating.
He said, “I let him work with me. I took his back, put him in a reverse triangle,,” Achilles said, describing how he introduced him to the sport in a controlled way.
Clavicular apparently appreciated the respectful approach. “He made a clip saying I was pretty cool and that I was treating him nice,” Achilles added.
