Bia Mesquita is fresh off a first-round finish at UFC Vegas 119 and riding a perfect 3-0 start in the promotion. However, during a recent interview, the conversation quickly shifted away from her success inside the octagon and toward her widely discussed encounter with internet personality Clavicular.
When asked what really happened between the two, Mesquita immediately pushed back against some of the assumptions surrounding the viral interaction.
“No, heck no,” she said.
Mesquita explained that her interest in Clavicular stemmed purely from curiosity after seeing the attention he was receiving in public.
“I was just like I have a bad habit that I’m very curious about things. So, I’m a little bit gossip and I was curious to know who he was,” she said.
According to Mesquita, she first noticed him walking through a mall surrounded by a crowd.
“He was walking like with a lot of people around him, cameras, like fans around him. I was like, ‘Bro, who is this guy?'” she recalled.
Mesquita said she happened to be leaving the mall with her family when the interaction took place.
“I was just passing by. I was leaving with my family from the mall and he stopped me,” she said.
She added that she remained polite during the encounter.
“He stopped me and he was like, ‘Hey, you’re was so beautiful.’ I wasn’t rude, you know, I said, ‘Thank you,'” Mesquita said.
Her decision to exchange information, she explained, was motivated by a desire to find out who he was rather than any romantic interest.
“And then when I was like, ‘Oh, I want to know who he is.’ So, I just gave my phone to like figure out who he was,” she said.
However, after learning more about him online, her opinion quickly changed.
“But, you know, after I saw the kind of video he does, it’s just like so ridiculous. I didn’t like it, but I’m glad that nothing happened,” Mesquita said.
When asked whether Clavicular ever followed up with a phone call or text message, Mesquita revealed that she cut off communication almost immediately.
“No, we never got in contact,” she said.
Mesquita explained that she blocked his number as soon as she discovered who he was.
“I honestly, as soon as I wrote down his number, I figured out who he was, I blocked it,” she said.
As a result, she has no idea whether he ever tried to reach out afterward.
“So, I don’t even know if he tried or not, but I don’t like the kind of content that he did,” she added.
The Schmo then asked whether she was a fan of Clavicular’s extensive plastic surgery, prompting an even more direct response.
“Heck no. No, he looks terrible,” Mesquita said.
She explained that she had not gotten a good look at him during their initial encounter.
“He was like he had like sunglasses like at the mall. I didn’t really look up at him,” she said.
After later discovering who he was, she said her reaction was disbelief.
“And when I saw like who he was. I was like, ‘Bro, like who do you think you are? Like, come on,'” Mesquita said.
When pressed further on his appearance, she remained blunt.
“He doesn’t have good-looking. He doesn’t have a good shape. Come on,” she said.
Mesquita also noted that her standards are influenced by the people she spends time around every day.
“I’m around athletes all the time. I’m used to have like six-packs around me. So, no,” she added.
Throughout the interview, Mesquita maintained that the interaction was never anything more than a moment of curiosity.
