Gordon Ryan claims Dillon Danis is about to pull out of Logan Paul boxing bout

Gordon Ryan has shared his prediction for the upcoming boxing match between Logan Paul and Danis. While Ryan believes that Paul could emerge victorious, he’s skeptical whether Danis will even step into the ring for his boxing debut on October 14.

Gordon Ryan faced off against Danis in a closely contested match during the 2017 Abu Dhabi Combat Club tournament. Despite securing victory over Danis, Ryan was unable to submit the New York-based star.

The rivalry between Ryan and Danis has persisted over the years, with both athletes expressing interest in a rematch despite their divergent career paths. During an interview with Mirror earlier this month, Ryan shared his skepticism about Danis’ commitment to the match against Paul, predicting a no-show from the Bellator star. If the bout does take place, Ryan leans towards Logan Paul as the likely winner.

“Historically Dillon hasn’t shown up to anything so we’ll see,” Ryan said of the match-up, which will take place on October 14 at the AO Arena in Manchester. “Logan trains, Dillon doesn’t train so I don’t think he’ll show up.”

“Because his manager just came out and said [Danis] wasn’t training and he couldn’t make weight. It’s like dude, at least lie and say he hurt his ribs and can’t compete. Don’t just be like, ‘He’s a lazy s*** bag, maybe he can’t make it.’

“I knew it was going to happen. Dillon’s whole thing is he just soaks up the publicity for whatever he’s going to do, and then at the last second, he pulls out. He gives the promotion enough time to find a replacement so they want to work with him again.”

Conversely, Dillon Danis is a polarizing figure in combat sports due to his brash trash-talk and a tendency to withdraw from events. He suffered a knee injury in 2020 before a scheduled Bellator appearance and declined to face Jake Paul in April 2021. He also skipped a contracted bout with KSI earlier this year, drawing criticism for his inconsistency.
