WATCH: Heat and Pelicans game descends into CHAOS after brawl breaks out

In a thrilling NBA showdown between the Miami Heat and the New Orleans Pelicans, chaos ensued on Friday night. This marked by a series of incidents resulting in the ejection of four players.

Miami’s star player Jimmy Butler found himself ejected early in the fourth quarter after a scuffle unfolded on the court.

With 11:19 remaining and Miami holding a narrow 84-81 lead, tensions escalated. This led to the ejections of Heat reserve Thomas Bryant and Pelicans’ players Jose Alvarado and Naji Marshall as a brawl broke out.

The altercation began when Pelicans’ forward Zion Williamson stole the ball from Butler. Kevin Love intervened, attempting to prevent an uncontested layup. This resulted in a foul being called on Love. The incident triggered a series of events leading to the on-court scuffle.

Butler and Marshall found themselves in a physical confrontation, briefly grabbing each other by the neck. Teammates and coaches rushed in, adding to the intensity of the moment.

As it seemed that the initial scuffle had been contained, a new altercation erupted near the scorers’ table. Bryant and Alvarado engaged in a heated exchange of blows, adding to the chaos on the court.

Fans in the stands became part of the drama, with a Pelicans jersey-clad spectator throwing objects at Miami players. This fan was promptly ejected by security. Another fan wearing a Heat jersey was also escorted out.

Officials took several minutes to review the video footage before deciding on the four ejections. Love was given a common foul. Before being dismissed, Butler finished with 23 points and nine rebounds.

Despite the chaos, the Miami Heat managed to secure a 106-95 victory over the Pelicans.

Miami broke the Pelicans’ four-game winning run due to a 24-point performance by Bam Adebayo. It was the Heat’s sixth consecutive victory against the Pelicans since their All-Star break.

After the on-court chaos, the Pelicans briefly surged ahead, with rookie Jordan Hawkins’ 3-pointer making it 91-89. However, the Heat responded with a decisive 11-0 run.

For the Heat, Tyler Herro scored 15 points and Duncan Robinson scored 17. But with 1:40 remaining, Herro seemed to injure his left knee. After being assisted to his feet, he limped directly to the dressing room.
