Craig Jones Comes Clean About PEDs, Explains Why He’s Open About It Despite Criticism

In a candid interview on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, grappling champion Craig Jones opened up about his use of PEDs and explained his rationale for being so transparent about it.

Jones acknowledged taking ster*ids under medical supervision to aid his intense training and recovery. However, he expressed concern about the lack of guidance for the next generation of athletes on proper PED usage and dosages.

“The kids, the next generation, they’re gonna take it anyway,” Jones stated. “I at least want to put out my exact stack. I just want to send it out as almost like a… it’s like dr*gs, just say no doesn’t work.”

He argued that by openly discussing his controlled ster*id regimen, he hopes to steer young athletes away from taking excessive or ill-advised dosages that could severely jeopardize their health and longevity in the sport.

“Obviously, you get criticized for it, but it’s like the other option is they don’t know what a high-level athlete’s taking, and they f***ing ruin their body taking crazy dosages,” Jones explained.

The Australian grappler also touched on the prevalence of PED use across combat sports, including mixed martial arts and even Olympic sports like cycling’s Tour de France. While controversial, Jones believes there could be health benefits to regulated PED use for athletes pushing their bodies to the limits in competitions.

Throughout the interview, Jones maintained a frank stance, seemingly undeterred by potential backlash. His openness about a typically hushed topic in sports aims to spark a more thoughtful discourse around PEDs and athlete safety.
