WATCH: 80-Year-Old Actor Gets Knocked Down After Confronting a Fan Who Threw Water Balloons at Him

During a Fourth of July parade in Los Angeles, renowned actor Danny Trejo found himself in an unexpected confrontation with a parade-goer who allegedly threw a water balloon at his vintage convertible.

The incident occurred on Thursday in the Sunland-Tujunga neighborhood of Los Angeles, as Trejo, known for his roles in films like “Machete” and “Spy Kids,” was driving his classic baby blue convertible along the parade route. Suddenly, a water balloon was launched at the windshield of his car, prompting the 80-year-old actor to spring into action.

According to the news report, Trejo, dressed in a long-sleeved white shirt and black pants, quickly exited his vehicle and attempted to confront the individual suspected of throwing the water balloon. The actor threw a punch, but it missed its target, and Trejo was then pushed to the ground.

The situation quickly escalated, with a larger brawl erupting between the suspect and others who intervened. Trejo was seen retrieving a green foldable chair and tossing it into the chaotic scene. A woman then rushed to the actor’s side, holding him back as others worked to restrain him.

Throughout the incident, nearby parade-goers could be heard pleading with the participants to stop, as children were present in the area. The altercation was eventually broken up by bystanders, and police were called to the scene. No arrests were made.

Trejo later expressed his disappointment with the incident, calling the water balloon throwing “childish” and describing the perpetrators as “cowards.” The 80-year-old actor confirmed that he was not injured during the confrontation.

This incident comes just days after Trejo announced the passing of his 16-year-old chihuahua, Dixie. The Los Angeles native, who has openly spoken about his past struggles with addiction and incarceration, has had a storied acting career spanning over 400 movies and television shows since his first role in 1985’s “Runaway Train.”
