WATCH: Flying triangle from Sayat Abduali puts opponent to SLEEP

In a daring sequence at an Octagon League show in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Friday, undefeated lightweight prospect Sayat Abduali pulled off one of the best submissions of 2024 with a flying triangle that put opponent Fakhriddin Khoshimzhonov to sleep.

Khoshimzhonov immediately shot out of the gates with a takedown attempt, only to be foiled by Abduali’s impressive balance. Hopping on one leg, the 20-year-old Kazakh threw caution to the wind and threw his legs up around Khoshimzhonov’s head and neck, instantly putting him in danger.

“Abduali might single-handedly start a new trend of jumping the triangle,” remarked Alexander K. Lee of the news source. “Fighters love jumping the guillotine, but Sayat Abduali has taken it to the next level.”

At first, Khoshimzhonov tried to punch his way out, but when he realized that wasn’t happening, he went to fight Abduali’s hands. “It was way too little, way too late,” Lee noted, as Khoshimzhonov succumbed to the triangular hold and lost consciousness.

Abduali improved his professional record to 6-0, with all of his victories coming by way of knockout or submission. “Zayac Armani! Another victory in the first round!” exclaimed one observer, while another praised Abduali’s secret: “The secret is in his hands!”

Fakhriddin Khoshimzhonov, who was previously undefeated, suffered his first professional loss at the hands of the rising Kazakh star. Armand, the event organizer, expressed his confidence in Abduali, saying, “We’re counting on you!”

Sayat Abduali’s flying triangle choke has undoubtedly cemented his status as one of the most exciting prospects in the Octagon League. With his impressive balance, submission skills, and fearless approach, the young Kazakh fighter is quickly making a name for himself in the sport.
