Nicky Ryan targets June comeback against ADCC Champ Davi Ramos

Nicky Ryan is just 21-years-old but he’s been plagued by injuries for a while.

He is looking to make a comeback this summer after missing out on competition since the 2022 ADCC World Championships. Ryan has his sights set on a June Who’s Number One (WNO) card, and his primary potential opponent for the match is the 2015 ADCC champion, Davi Ramos.

Injuries have plagued Ryan over the past few years, resulting in him competing in just four matches since 2021.

Nevertheless, Ryan’s recent victories have all come against top-tier competitors, including Dante Leon and PJ Barch. The young black belt’s upcoming match against Ramos could be a defining moment in his career, and he is eager to prove himself once again.

Ryan revealed during a recent episode of the Simple Man Podcast that he is in talks with FloGrappling to secure the match.

He also expressed interest in facing off against other high-profile opponents, such as ADCC veteran Magid Hage and EBI champion Alan Sanchez. Unfortunately, those matches were not possible.

While Ryan is eager to make a statement, Ramos presents a significant challenge. The Brazilian has a storied career, including seven outings in the UFC including one against Islam Makhachev. He has, however, focused on his MMA career lately, and his last grappling bout was in 2021.

Ryan’s primary focus remains on his comeback, and he is determined to make it a memorable one. With his sights set on the WNO in June, the young black belt hopes to secure the match against Ramos and make a statement to the grappling world.
